The new software is expected to keep the students up with modern design tools and techniques and help modify the engineering design curriculum to shift focus to design automation with software like the one provided by PTC.

IIT, Delhi has itself invested over Rs. 12 million in hardware to run Pro/Engineer and sought Rs 30 million government aid to update their machine shops.

These moves are expected to improve the career prospects of the IIT students in the international market.
