R Gangakhedkar, ICMR, give us this extremely worrying information at the presser. He says out of 100 coronavirus patients, 80 per cent are asymptomatic or show only mild symptoms.

ICMR also responded to the West Bengal government's claims that the COVID-19 testing kits were defective. "We have received a grievance that in West Bengal, RTPCR kits are not working properly. These kits are US FDA approved and are of good standard. The only thing is they should be stored under 20 degrees temperature, otherwise, results may not be correct."

Meanwhile, as many as 835 new cases of  COVID-19 have been detected in Maharashtra in the last 36 hours, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said on Monday. He said limited industrial activities have been allowed in certain areas of the state, but this should not be seen as indication that the threat of coronavirus has receded in any way. "There has been a rise of 835 cases of COVID-19 in Maharashtra in the last 36 hours. We are relaxing the
stringent norms of lockdown to restart the wheels of economy," he said.
