Won't contest 2019 general elections: Priya Dutt

In a fresh jolt to the Congress party, former Member of Parliament Priya Dutt has said that she is not willing to contest the 2019 Lok Sabha election. Priya Dutt has written a letter to Congress president Rahul Gandhi, saying she does not want to contest the Lok Sabha election.

Explaining the same, she said, "I will not be contesting 2019 general elections. These past years have been exciting and enlightening for me. However, I struggled to keep a balance between my personal and political life. While I did my best and managed, it took a toll on many aspects of my life."
