40 pilgrims killed in bus accident in Telangana

Over 40 people have been killed after a state-owned Road Transport Corporation bus fell into a valley in Telangana's Jagtiyal district on Tuesday.

According to report, 70 people were travelling in the bus, when it skid off the ghat road near Shanivarapet village and fell into the valley. Authorities say break failure could be one of the reason for the accident.

The bus had pilgrims returning after visiting a temple, reports said. "The incident happened between 11.45 am and noon," Jagtial District Collector A Sharat, who is supervising the relief and rescue work, told PTI over the phone.
