Fire brigade, police, NDRF at bridge collapse site

If you've just joined us, a portion of the arterial Majerhat bridge in the southern part of Kolkata has collapsed. Some casualties are feared, police said. The bridge collapsed in Alipore area also crushing some vehicles, they said. Fire brigade, police and NDRF personnel are engaged in rescue work. Nine people have been pulled out from the debris and rushed to the government SSKM Hospital nearby. The army has not been called in but since the area is very close, Army field hospital detachment has been sent.
