Sterlite protests' death toll climbs to 14

Justine, who was injured in a lathi-charge by police during the anti-Sterlite protests in Thoothukudi on 22nd May, passed away last night after being in coma for five months. The total death toll in the anti-Sterlite protest till now is 14. The CBI's Special Crime Branch began its investigation into the protests against Sterlite Copper's smelter in Thoothukudi and the police firing on May 22 in which 13 people agitating against the plant's expansion were killed.
