Amarinder rejects Pak invite to attend Kartarpur ceremony

Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has declined Pakistan's invite for Kartarpur corridor foundation stone-laying ceremony, citing terror attacks in Punjab as the reason.

However, responding to invitation of Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi to attend the opening ceremony, Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu writes 'I look forward to meeting you on this historic occasion. My application for permission to attend is now lodged with the MEA (ministry of external affairs)'. -- PTI/ANI
