"It is my privilege that I have got this opportunity to spend time on Rabindranath Tagore's soil. I feel Gurudev's presence here. I am remembering Rabindranath Tagore's time here.


"I congratulate the ones who have got a degree today and wish them the best for future. Your degree is a proof of your educational prowess. But you have not just a got a degree here, you have received something much more unique. You are the custodians of a great legacy.


"First of all, as the chancellor of Visva Bharati University, I seek your apologies. When I was coming here, some students were telling me with gestures that there is no arrangement of drinking water. I want to apologise for all the inconvenience caused to you."

On Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina's presence at the university, Modi said, "It is rare to have two PMs at a convocation."
