PM Modi resumes his speech only to pause it again.

Paying tribute to BJP workers who lost their lives, by observing silence for a minute, he said, "Innocent BJP workers were killed. We take this opportunity to remember their sacrifice."

Resuming his speech, the PM said victory and defeat is common in democracy but there should be a sportsmanship spirit. (The CPM has said it will approach the EC over the counting of Dhanpur seat where Manik Sarkar was contesting, citing irregularities)

Alluding to the CPM loss he said, "When the sun sets it is red in color and when it rises it is saffron. All the colours have turned saffron today."

"Yeh loktantra ki taakat hai ki garib se garib aur anpadh ne bhi chot ka jawaab vote se diya. Election analysts in India will have to understand the journey from 'no one to won' shunya se shikhar tak'. The North East has today come forward to lead India on the path to development."
