In Shillong, Mukul Wasnik leaves a telling paper trail

Caught on camera: Congress leader Mukul Wasnik carrying a paper with seat tallies and what appears to be numbers for government formation in Meghalaya. Meghalaya appeared set to have a hung Assembly.

National People's Party has won 18 seats, leading in 1;
NDA allies HSPDP wins two seat while UDP won six seats. Both contested the election separately.
BJP has won two seats in the state
Congress has won 21 seats.
NCP has won one seat
KHNAM wins one seat and PDF won 4 and Independents won 3 seats.


Senior party leader Kamal Nath, Ahmed Patel and Mukul Wasnik are in Shillong. After the Assembly elections in Manipur and Goa threw hung verdicts last year, the BJP was able to form governments there with the help of smaller parties and Independents.
