The country is mourning Bollywood icon Sridevi, who died on Saturday evening in Dubai following a cardiac arrest. The 54-year-old, who had dominated the silver screen in the 80s, had gone to Dubai to attend a family wedding.

Sridevi had fainted in the bathroom of the Jumeirah Emirates Towers, where she was staying with her family. A medical team had failed to revive her and she was declared dead at a hospital, Indian ambassador in UAE Navdeep Suri was quoted as saying.

Senior airport officials said a 37-seater private aircraft flew from Mumbai to Dubai around 1.35 pm on Sunday. The Embraer 135 landed at Dubai around 4.40 pm (IST). Officials said the flight would return to Mumbai only after all the procedures and after the post-mortem were performed in Dubai.

This could be around Monday afternoon, officials said.

Boney and Khushi will fly back with the actor's body, the officials added.
