Makkal Needhi Maiam: Kamal Haasan launches his political party

Veteran film star Kamalahaasan has launched his political party Makkal Needhi Maiam -- the People's Justice Party in front of thousands of his supporters in Madurai.

Speaking to the audience, he said, "You must be an example to the present day political system and I will be seeking your suggestion rather than giving you speeches."

He added, "This morsel rice (the crowds) is an example of what I can cook, I dare you to touch it, you will burn."

Earlier in the day, the actor paid a visit to the house of former President, the late APJ Abdul Kalam, in Rameswaram.

The actor-director said, "Greatness can come from simple beginnings," about his visit to Kalam's residence.
