PM's wife suffers head injuries in road accident

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's wife Jashodaben has been injured in an accident in Rajasthan, NDTV reports, quoting police sources.

One person has reportedly died in the accident, which took place on the Kota-Chittor highway.

Jashodaben has suffered head injuries, the police say and has been taken to a hospital in Chittorgarh. Whether the injuries are superficial or serious is not known yet.

A retired school teacher, Jashodaben was married to Narendra Modi when she was 17.
