In Rajasthan, anti-incumbency has played a big factor in the Congress gaining a foothold in Rajasthan after a gap two terms. Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, despite all odds, wins from Jhalrapatan, yet her party office in Jaipur wore a deserted look. Raje arrived at party office this morning and left after holding a brief meeting with the party workers. State BJP president Madan Lal Saini attended the meeting along with others.

As the trends poured in, the Congress office started celebrating in full swing. But, the BJP did not lose hope, awaiting the final tally. Independents sprung up with spectacular victory numbers.

Congress claims to be in touch with the Independent candidates to form the mandate.

As per the tradition Rajasthan has chosen an alternate government in every assembly election with the only variation in 1993 when BJP's Bhairon Singh Shekhawat won two consecutive terms. There has been 74.21 per cent voter turnout in the state this time. The tenure of Rajasthan assembly will end on January 20, 2019.
