Halep crashes out of US Open

Simona Halep, ranked number 1 in the world, crashes out of the US Open.

The Romanian lost to unseeded Kaia Kanepi 2-6, 4-6 in the first round of the tournament being held at Flushing Meadows.

Halep won the French Open earlier this year after she defeated Sloane Stephens of America.
