Candlelight march for Kashmiri officer Lt Umar Fayaz

A candlelight march has begun at India Gate in New Delhi to pay homage to Army officer Lieutenant Ummer Fayaz, who was killed by terrorists on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, the army said a school had been renamed after Fayaz and his family was handed over a cheque for Rs 75 lakh. The cheque for Rs 75 lakh was from the Army Group Insurance Fund, apart from another cheque for Rs one lakh from the martyr's regiment -- Rajputana Rifles.
