'Amit Shah has insulted Mahatma'

The Bihar chief minister -- who flagged off a year-long series of Gandhi Raths in April to make Biharis aware of the Mahatma's views -- ignored the media when they sought to quiz him about Shah's remark about Gandhi.

Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal-United party spokesperson Neeraj Kumar, however, told the media that Shah had insulted the nation and its people by using 'caste' to address the Mahatma.

'At a time when the country is celebrating 100 years of Gandhiji's Champaran Satyagraha, the BJP president has insulted him and 125 crore people," Neeraj Kumar said.

Rashtriya Janata Dal Spokesperson Pragati Mehta said Shah had exposed his and the BJP mindset by his remark.
