First White House petition asks Trump to release his tax returns

Thousands of Americans are calling for President Donald Trump to release his tax returns in one of the first White House petitions of his new administration.

Two petitions surfaced on the official government website just hours after Trump was sworn in to lead the nations highest public office.

One seeks the immediate release of Trump's full tax returns and has garnered more than 6,000 signatures as of about 4:30 pm ET.

The other petition, which has far fewer signatures, asks the President to "divest his financial and business holdings or have them administered by a truly blind trust."
