Kamala Mills fire: A doctor who was at the restaurant last night tells India Today that she and her friend who were dining at '1 Above' were in the process of paying the bill when they noticed a small fire at one end of the restaurant and within seconds it had become an inferno. Everyone rushed towards the exit and in the stampede she fell. She said her friend had gone ahead but realising she was not with him went back to get her. By then there were too many people trying to escape from the single exit of the restaurant. So she and her friend headed to the kitchen which had a service exit.

She says the staff were extremely helpful and many wouldn't have made it without them. The BMC in a press release also said that fourteen people have suffered injuries, out of which two are in a critical condition.

An eyewitness says the fire brigade arrived in 10 minutes.

Eleven of the deceased have been identified; however, the identity of three still remains unknown.

An FIR has been filed against the three pub owners.
