Hrithik Roshan has been hit with a legal notice by Abraham Mathai, the former Vice-Chairman of the States Minorities Commission, for his remarks suggesting that it was more likely that he could have an affair with the Pope than any of his female co-stars.

The notice, filed under Section 295A, accuses the actor of trying to outrage the religious feelings and beliefs of the Christian community.

The remark about the Pope was Roshan's initial public reaction to an interview by his Kangana Ranaut, in which the actress said a "silly ex' was giving her trouble and causing her to lose roles. Even though he wasn't named in the interview, Roshan lashed out through his Twitter account, saying, "Ther r more chances of me having had an affair with d Pope dan any of d (Im sure wonderful) women d media hs been naming.'
