SEBI to act against 'wilful defaulters'

The Securities and Exchange Board of India has decided to impose restrictions on wilful defaulters. The Board has decided to bar them from public issue of securities, taking control of listed firms.

The Board also discussed the plan of action for FY 2016-17. Important proposed activities include encouraging delisting of suspended companies, enhanced supervision of stock brokers and other intermediaries.
