Deve Gowda backs Mallya, says he is not running away

Former prime minister H D Deve Gowda came out in support of Vijay Mallya on Saturday, saying he (Mallya) 'is a son of Karnataka soil and he is not running away'.

"The government has given a reply on Mllya. The ED (Enforcement Directorate) has given the summons and he has already replied," Deve Gowda said.

"These days, every airline is facing losses. So no need to target a person who is a global businessman,' Deve Gowda told reporters.
