The Bombay high court on Friday sought a response from actor Aamir Khan and Star TV to a public interest litigation by an activist taking objection to the use of words 'Satyameva Jayate' for their television programme.
In his petition, activist Manoranjan Roy said the words 'Satyameva Jayate' form part of the Emblem of India and hence their use is violative under the State Emblem of India (Prohibition and Improper Use) Act and State Emblem of India (Regulation of Use) Rules.
The Union Ministry of Home Affairs in its affidavit, in response to the petition, said the use of phrase 'Satyameva Jayate' was not violative of the Act and Rules.
