Avoid Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway; Traffic's a mess after heavy rains

Gurgaon police has asked people coming from Delhi to stay away from after massive jams triggered due to rains threw traffic completely off gear.

Commuters were stuck for hours on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway on Thursday evening after heavy rain lashed the national capital.

There was a massive jam as vehicles - from cars, to two-wheelers to buses and other modes of public transport - were stuck for over four hours, especially on the Delhi-Jaipur stretch.

Ashutosh Garg, a motorist who uses the expressway, tweeted: "Madness on the Delhi-Gurgon highway. Never seen such traffic. Best to advise people to work from home today."

Gurgaon Traffic Police tweed: "Traffic Situation in Gurgaon, especially on NH8 and Sohna Road is congested and very slow due to rains and flooding. Avoid if possible."
