Munich transport shut; people 'open doors' of their homes for strangers
July 23, 2016 01:01
The suspension of Munich's transport system in view of a shooting rampage at a shopping centre has left many people stranded during the evening rush hours.
People are offering space in their own homes on social media, using the hashtag #Offenetuer -- which means 'open door' -- for people who are stranded without a way to get home.
Police has asked everyone to stay indoors.
The police is using all available emergency services to deal with the incident -- with the support of special forces, the Federal Police and neighbouring councils, the BBC reported.
