2 out of 16 missing from Kerala have joined ISIS: TV report

Intelligence sources confirm that out of 16 people, who had gone missing from Kerala a month ago, two have contacted their families and confirmed that they have joined ISIS, CNN-News18 reports.

Among those who went missing is a Hindu girl who had converted to marry a Muslim man.

Kerala government on Saturday announced a probe into the matter with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan calling it a "very serious issue".

The missing persons are below the age of 30 and highly qualified, including medicos.

While 11 youths hail from Padna and Thrikaripur in the northernmost Kasaragod district, others are from Palakkad district.
