India, France sign agreement on 36 Rafale fighter jets

-- I thank you for accepting our invitation.

-- Mr Hollande is a close friend of India. Mr President you are the leader of a powerful country.

-- France is our most trusted strategic partner.

-- Matter of great pride for me to welcome you as the Chief Guest for Jan 26 parade.

-- Tomorrow we shall be welcoming a French leader for the 5th time.

-- French troops shall march shoulder to shoulder along with Indian troops.

-- It was 18 years ago when we signed a strategic partnership with France.

-- (On Rafale jets) Except for the financial aspects, we have an inter governmental agreement on 36 jets. We will resolve the financial aspects soon. We expect that even the financial aspects pertaining to purchase of Rafale jets will be resolved as soon as possible

-- From locomotives to satellites, archaeological excavations to smart cities; solar energy to nuclear power; our decisions have touched all domains.

-- India is privileged to share one of its oldest and most trusted strategic partnerships with France

-- Paris to Pathankot are challenges for us. Terrorism is against humanity. To fight this, we have to unite.
