The Delhi government's odd-even scheme restricting movement of private vehicles on alternate days ended today amid indications that it could be reintroduced in the future.

A victorious and vindicated Delh CM addressing a press meet congratulated the Delhi police and the people for their support and said it contributed to the success of the Odd-Even formula.

"Odd-Even was a very good government-people experience. The world watched the success of Delhi's traffic scheme. The plan was supported not just by the people of Delhi, but even by judges who car-pooled and walked to work.

"Pollution levels came down by 25 percent, but less congestion on roads was one of the benefits that people witnessed.

"This experience shows how good the people of Delhi are. I request the people of Delhi to continue with the Odd-Even Plan voluntarily as it is in the interest of our children and state. An assessment meeting will be held on Monday."
