A couple was beaten on a train in Madhya Pradesh over rumours of carrying beef.

According to a report in The Indian Express, the incident took place on Wednesday at Khirkiya railway station, in Harda district, when the local Gau Rakshak Samiti were tipped off about beef being carried by the couple in Kushinagar Express.
