Wearing Mera Yaar Kanhaiya T-shirts JNU students begin massive protest march

In New Delhi, students, former students and faculty from JNU and other universities are marching from Mandi House to Jantar Mantar demanding the release of JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar and the dropping of sedition charges against him.At the venue, "Mera Yaar Kanhaiya" T-Shirts are being sold for Rs 150.


Kanhaiya Kumar has moved the Supreme Court requesting bail citing 'extraordinary circumstances.' The plea will be heard before the court tomorrow. Former Attorney General Soli Sorabjee is likely to argue for Kanhaiya's bail plea.


The Supreme Court appointed panel of advocates have submitted their report and a pen drive containing a mobile clip of yesterday's visit to the Patiala House court complex.  Kanhaiya Kumar was assaulted by lawyers inside the court complex and in a corridor inside the court.
