Libyan plane hijacked: All passengers freed except few crew members
December 23, 2016  19:30
All passengers and few crew members of an Afriqiyah Airways flight which has been hijacked from Libya and diverted to Malta where it landed earlier today, have been freed.

The release comes after negotiations with the two hijackers who had earlier threatened to blow up the Airbus A320 with grenades.

"Potentially 2 hijackers and some crew members still on board aircraft," tweeted Malta Prime Minister Joseph Muscat.

The hijackers had reportedly told authorities that they are supporters of former Libyan ruler Muammar Gaddafi.
