Both hijackers of Libyan plane surrender

Update on Libyan plane hijack: Both the hijackers have surrendered and all passengers and crew members have been released.

'Hijackers surrendered, searched and taken in custody,' Maltese Prime Minister Joseph Muscat tweeted.

'Final crew members leaving aircraft with hijackers,' he said in another tweet earlier.

Earlier, AFP quoted a Maltese minister as saying that the hijackers 'were asking for asylum in Malta'.
