GK Vasan, the son of the late Congress stalwart GK Moopanar, was left high and dry by both J Jayalalithaa and K Karunanidhi.

Jaya's condition that the Tamil Maanila Congress should contest within the party's leaf symbol has been rejected by Vasan.

Interestingly, Karunanidhi was keen to accommodate Vasan, but Sonia and Rahul Gandhi saw to it that the TMC was kept out of the Congress-DMK poll alliance. Rahul Gandhi feels Vasan has ditched the Congress.
