PM reaches Dublin, Ireland's first gay minister welcomes him

Just in: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has just landed in Dublin. Ireland's Health Minister Leo Varadkar and other dignitaries received the PM. Varadkar (whose father is Indian) is a qualified medical doctor and the first openly gay Irish government minister. Modi will spend today in Ireland where he will hold discussions with Prime Minister Enda Kenny. He will depart for New York the same evening for the US leg of his tour.


Prime Minister Modi will fly to USA later to meet industry leaders in Silicon Valley. He will be attending at least 20 back-to-back events in two working days, including visits to headquarters of Google and Facebook, meetings with Apple's Tim Cook and Microsoft's Satya Nadella, and a dinner with top tech CEOs.
