Sonia Gandhi's tenure as Congress president is likely to be extended say reports. The Congress Working Committee, which will be meeting today, is likely to extend the term of party president Sonia Gandhi.


The CWC, which is the highest decision making body of the party, will also discuss the present political situation in the country and party's strategy for the upcoming Bihar assembly polls.Sonia Gandhi's term as party president will end in December and the party is likely to hold organisational elections next year.


Sonia Gandhi, who took over reigns of Congress in 1998, is the longest serving president of the party till date.
