To act as an ice-breaker between both sides, the Border Security Force plans to propose a sporting competition with the Pakistani Rangers at the upcoming talks between both sides in Delhi from Thursday. The sport to be played will be decided after the Rangers first accept the idea.

"A sports competition is a possible confidence building measure -- BSF and Rangers can play cricket, hockey or any sport at a mutually-accepted location near the border to which both sides agree," a senior government official said.

The Pakistani delegation arrives at Wagah at noon on Wednesday before reaching Delhi and attending a dinner hosted by the Pakistani high commissioner. Talks will be held on Friday from 9:30 am till 1 pm and BSF will host the Pakistani delegation for dinner at it .
