The first glimpse of Sanjeev Khanna I caught was in the departure lounge at Calcutta airport while waiting to board the Jet Airways flight 9W628.He was sitting alone wearing a black round-neck T-shirt, greenish track pants and a pair of slippers.

Unlike the pictures we had seen of the moustachioed Khanna on August 26, he was now sporting a full beard which he stroked frequently.


I managed to click a picture of him on my phone and then walked up to him and asked him how he was doing.

"I know I am in trouble... but I will get out of it," he told me calmly.
