South Carolina flooding: State not out of the woods yet, governor says

The rain may finally be subsiding in South Carolina, but the danger is far from over.

Gov. Nikki Haley said Monday that more evacuations are likely as floodwaters rise in spots, and authorities warned of the danger of roads that look OK on the surface but that may have been undermined by raging waters.

"We can't let our guard down. Conditions are still dangerous out there," South Carolina Department of Public Safety Director Leroy Smith said at a news conference.

A mandatory evacuation was ordered downstream from the Overcreek dam after a breech Monday, a spokeswoman for the city of Columbia told CNN. Authorities were working to determine the severity of the situation, Shawn Washington said.
