Even as the Lok Sabha prepares to discuss the growing intolerance in the nation, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu said that there was no problem in the country since Modi had come to power. "Nothing has gone wrong during Narendra Modi's regime as PM, there is absolute tolerance in the country," the Union minister said.

When asked about the award wapsi campaign, with writers, historians and other artistes returning their awards, Naidu said, " Different writers have different opinions. Things like this used to happen earlier too. During Emergency, constitutional and fundamental rights were crippled, these people (writers) were silent then and violent now."
