20 new fast-track courts for heinous crimes lined up in Delhi

The Delhi government today said it has sanctioned a plan for the opening of 20 new fast-track courts which will deal with heinous crimes in the national capital, including those against women.

Speaking at an "open cabinet" to mark 100 days of AAP government, Law Minister Jitender Singh Tomar said that rape cases in these courts will be disposed of in six months. "The government has sanctioned a plan for opening new 20 fast-track courts, which will deal with heinous crimes, including those against women.

"Apart from these, the government will also open 27 fast- track courts in the second phase due to which cases involving crimes against women will be disposed of in just six months," said Tomar.

Food and Civil Supply Minister Asim Ahmed Khan said that in order to provide rations to the people in a time-bound manner, the government has installed Point of Sale (PoS) at 42 fair price shops.
