Modi to highlight his govt's achievements on 'Mann ki Baat'

Under severe attack from the opposition parties over his government's "anti-poor and anti-farmer policies", Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reportedly hold a direct dialogue with the nation in the eighth episode of his monthly radio programme called 'Mann ki Baat' on next Sunday, May 31.

According to reports, the prime minister will highlight his government's achievements and various welfare measures taken by it during his radio address to the nation, which will be telecast by the All India Radio, its major telecast centres and FM channels.

The programme will be aired at 11 am next Sunday.

The Modi government has decided to launch a series of programmes and interactions to highlight the work done by the NDA government during its first year in office.

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Mann ki Baat' address, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who also holds the I&B portfolio, and key NDA ministers will also hold similar interactions and press conferences across the country to showcase the initiatives taken by them..

The I&B Ministry is also considering plans to depute publicity vans and exhibitions in 50 to 60 cities to take the government's message to the hinterland, the sources said.
