Nepal has asked all rescue teams from 34 nations to withdraw operations.  India's National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has also been asked by the Nepalese government to withdraw its rescue teams.

Of the 17 countries which sent search-and-rescue teams to Nepal, the NDRF has the largest presence on the ground with 16 teams, comprising 704 personnel. NDRF teams are equipped with listening devices, cutters, spreaders, chipping hammers, victim-location cameras, hydraulic bags and shoring equipment and have been lauded by Nepal for their exemplary work in rescue and relief of the quake-hit nation.
