Home ministry seeks report on Parliament blaze

Hours after the fire at the Parliament complex was brought under control, the home ministry has sought a report into the matter. Earlier in the day, a major fire had broken out at Parliament, which required nine fire tenders to douse the flames.

President Pranab Mukherjee also expressed serious concern over the massive fire which broke out inside the Parliament Complex this afternoon. He has called upon authorities concerned to conduct an urgent enquiry into the cause of the fire and take necessary steps to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future.
