Media reports are saying that the elevation of Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi as party chief may be delayed as the All India Congress Committee session has now reportedly been postponed to July.

The AICC session was earlier scheduled to be held in April.

Though no official confirmation from the Congress party, speculations are rife that the decision to appoint Rahul as the party chief would be announced at the upcoming AICC session.

Meanwhile, the party continues to remain tight-lipped about the speculations.

Congress chief Sonia Gandhi was quoted by ANI earlier, When he (Rahul) will be made the president of the party, you (media) will be informed.

Rahul is currently on 'leave of absence' from party work and is reportedly expected to return later this week.
