Nun gangrape case: Search on for accused

Extensive searches were today on to trace those behind the alleged gang rape of a senior nun at a convent school in Nadia district.

Eight persons were detained yesterday in connection with the incident. The condition of the nun is stable.

The Board exams conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination were going on peacefully at the school.

To express solidarity with the nun, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Calcutta would take out a rally in Kolkata today.

The 71-year-old nun was allegedly gangraped by dacoits at Gangnapur in the early hours on Saturday after which a CID probe was ordered into the incident.
