Moderate quake hits Kashmir

A moderate intensity earthquake jolted Kashmir valley early today, reports Mukhtar Ahmad from Srinagar.

However,  no loss of life or property was reported from anywhere,  according to officials.

The earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale occurred at 3.29am, according to local meteorological office.The earthquake with epicenter in Pakistan region jolted the people as they rushed out of their homes in panic.

The earthquake came as people finished 'Sahri' the predawn meal during the holy month of Ramadan to begin their fast.
