Jaya leads with a massive 30000 votes in R K Nagar

The counting for the R K Nagar by-polls, which recorded a poll percentage of 74.4 percent, began this morning.

Through the by-poll, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa is eyeing a return to the state assembly after being convicted in the disproportionate assets case last year. And there were no surprises there as she is leading by a huge 30,000 votes.

Workers of the AIADMK gathered outside her residence, with her supporters anticipating her victory.The RK Nagar seat fell vacant following the resignation of P Vetrivel. The DMK, PMK and VCK have boycotted the by-election for various reasons.A total of 28 candidates are in the fray in this assembly segment.
