Just in: Singer Mika Singh has been arrested for assaulting a doctor during a live performance in April 2015. The singer was taken to the Indrapuri police station in Delhi, but is likely to released soon since it is a bailable offence.


TV reports say that the incident happened during the Mika Singh Live-in-concert which was coordinated by the Delhi Ophthalmological Society as a part of the three-day conference.


The doctor who was assaulted, apparently kept coming on to where the women were dancing and was creating a nuisance of himself. Mika told the police he had warned the doctor not to do so, but his advice went unheeded. Mika then called the doctor on to the stage and slapped him hard.


The doctors association IMA has asked for a boycott on the singer and demanded his arrest.


This is not the first time Mika was arrested. In February 2013, Mika was arrested at the international airport in Mumbai for allegedly carrying Indian and foreign currency beyond permissible limit, customs officials said. During checking, he was found in possession of $12,000 and Rs 3 lakh in cash.
