Social activist Anna Hazare joined ex-servicemen and families of Kargil war martyrs staging a protest over non-implementation of One Rank One Pension scheme at Jantar Mantar even as the country celebrates the 16th anniversary of India's victory.

Highlighting the plight, Hazare said that while a politicians make around Rs 50,000 a month, a soldier's widow gets a mere Rs 3,500-4,500 as pension. "We are able to sleep without fear because of our soldiers. I will do everything possible to ensure implementation of OROP," Hazare said.
The Gandhian added, "I have come here today to make sure whatever needs to be done for OROP will be done. It should be done in a non-violent manner.' "We will do rallies in Ludhiana on August 2, in Rohtak on August 9 and in Maharashtra on August 23 to create awareness about OROP,' Anna Hazare said.
