Superstar Salman Khan has joined the ranks of many who have been voicing their protest over hanging 1993 Mumbai blasts convict Yakub Memon.

In a series of tweets, the first of which was posted around 2 am today, Khan said: 'Hang Tiger. Brother is being hanged for Tiger. Arre where is Tiger?'

00:43   Obama lectures Kenyan president on gay rights
President Barack Obama on Saturday lectured Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta about his country's gay rights record.

"When you start treating people differently not because of any harm they are doing to anybody, but because they are different, that's the path whereby freedoms begin to erode," Obama said at a joint press conference with the Kenyan leader in Nairobi. "And bad things happen."

Under Kenyan law, sexual activity between men is illegal and punishable with a maximum imprisonment of 14 years. Many Kenyan leaders had encouraged Obama not to discuss gay rights on his first trip to the country as President.

But Obama equated legalized discrimination of gays to legalized racism in America.

"And when a government gets in a habit of people treating people differently, those habits can spread," Obama continued. "As an African-American, I am painfully aware of what happens when people are treated differently under the law."

00:32   Two former Guantanamo detainees arrested in Belgium
Two former detainees at the Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba were arrested by Belgian police in a counterterrorism operation targeting a recruiting network for al Qaeda in Syria.

They were arrested Wednesday night along with three others as they were about to break into a house to raise funds in the town of Hoboken, near Antwerp, a senior Belgian counterterrorism official told CNN.

"We have dismantled a serious recruiting network for Syria," the official told CNN.

One of the former Guantanamo Bay detainees was Moussa Zemmouri, 37, a Moroccan national born in Antwerp, Belgian federal prosecutors announced Friday. The other was an Algerian identified as Soufiane A., who prosecutors believe spent time in Syria.

Both have been charged with participating in the activities of a terrorist group and all five have been charged with attempted armed robbery.

Zemmouri was released from Guantanamo in 2005 and authored a book "Innocent at Guantanamo" after returning to Belgium. His case was featured prominently by the UK Muslim prisoner advocacy group CAGE, which has long maintained that he has no links to terrorism.

00:21   Convicted Israel spy Jonathan Pollard could be released early
The US government anticipates releasing convicted spy for Israel Jonathan Pollard in November 2015 when he is up for parole, or perhaps even earlier if legally possible, US officials said Friday.

The move, first reported by The Wall Street Journal, could be viewed as an effort to placate the Israeli government, which has long called for Pollard's release, at a time when the Obama administration is seeking to keep Israel from actively scuttling the nuclear deal with Iran.

But multiple officials insisted that it had nothing to do with the Iran deal but rather was a recognition that Pollard met the conditions for release and noted that the final decision is up to an independent parole commission.

"Pollard's status will be determined by the United States Parole Commission according to standard procedures. There is absolutely zero linkage between Pollard's status and foreign policy considerations," according to Alistair Baskey, an NSC spokesperson.

Pollard, who was convicted in 1987, is eligible for parole this November. Officials said Pollard has been a model prisoner during his term and the belief is the classified information he once possessed no longer poses a danger to the US.

00:19   Living like a fugitive
The most famous television journalist in Pakistan lives like a fugitive. Hamid Mir tells no one where he is going, how he will get there or where he will spend the night.

At Mirs office, his curtains are always drawn. He uses at least two cellphones and, until recently, he rotated among three residences to obscure his precise location, even from friends.

Even with all these precautions, Mir is anxious and jittery, most of all when he gets into the back seat of his bulletproof car to drive to the television studios for his show, Capital Talk.

Most nerve-racking part of the day, says the 49-year-old father of two, clenching the grab bar above him on a recent morning as the driver careens through the city taking last-minute instructions on which roads to take. Mir ignores incoming calls from unknown numbers and swivels from side to side, watching traffic to see whether any vehicle stays too close for too long.
